4 awesome roads for pure driving pleasure in the UAE

The UAE is home to some of the most high-quality roads in the world. The tarmac all around the UAE, specifically Dubai, is known to be smooth and comfortable to the residents of the UAE. Despite all the straight 6-lane highways and the spaghetti junctions, there are a few roads tucked away in different corners of the UAE that are guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping.

  1. Jabal Hafeet Road

The road to the peak of Jabal Hafeet is a mountain road located in Al Ain city in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Found on the eastern border with Oman, extending for just under 12 KM in length, the road attracts bikers and drivers alike to tackle the ascend while navigating the corners and hairpin turns. At the top of the mountain, visitors are greeted by a platform with a view of the entire city of Al Ain.

  1. Fujairah mountain road

This road is one of the oldest roads connecting the two coasts of the UAE. It goes through the Hajar Mountain range and is accessed through the Sharjah Kalba road. This mountain road takes you through some amazing scenery and through the famous Friday market where you can find anything from potteries to tapestries.

  1. Jabal Jais

Located in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, This Mountain is the highest peak in the UAE and has recently become a go-to spot for those seeking to spend time away from the city. In reality, this road is a driver’s dream, it flaunts more than 10 hair-pin turns and numerous S-turns that will get your blood pumping. After the 30Km drive up the mountain, visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the mountain range on one side, and the RAK port on the other. There are plans to build a resort at the peak of Jabal Jais.

  1. Jabal Taween

Taween Mountain is nestled into the Hajar Mountain range, it is home to a Military surveillance base, therefore it is slightly harder to find, and for good reason. The road to the peak is a gruelling task not for the faint-hearted, as the route is littered with blind turns and sudden declines, and on more than one occasion you will only see the sky while driving up this road. It is rare to see other cars on this road as it is not very well known, but it is a very good drive for those seeking steering wheel- gripping fun.
