Carasti Thailand: What Documents Expats Need to Subscribe 🚗📄

article-image-carasti-thailand-what-documents-expats-need-to-subscribe

Subscribing to a car in Thailand should be simple — and with Carasti, it is.
No loan applications. No down payments. No years-long commitments. Just one flat monthly fee and the car you want, delivered to your door.

But before we hand over the keys, we need to make sure the basics are covered.

Why We Ask for These Documents (In Plain English)

We only ask for what we need to confirm three simple things:

  1. Your identity
  2. That you’re legally allowed to stay in Thailand
  3. That you’re financially set to manage the subscription

It’s about trust, transparency, and making the experience smooth from the start — for both of us.

Here’s What We’ll Need From You

  • Copy of your passport
  • Valid driver’s license (Thai or your home license + International Driving Permit)
  • Valid visa
  • Work permit (if you have one)
  • Proof of residence in Thailand (utility bill, rental agreement or TM30)
  • Proof of income (latest payslip or employment contract)
  • Bank statements from the last 3 months (PDF only)

What Each Document Does (And Why It Matters)

📘 Passport

Why we ask: To confirm your identity.
This forms the legal foundation of your subscription.
What to send: A clear photo or scan of your passport info page.

🪪 Driver’s License

Why we ask: To confirm you’re legally allowed to drive in Thailand.
What to send:

  • A valid Thai driver’s license, or
  • Your home license + an International Driving Permit (IDP)

🛂 Visa

Why we ask: So we understand your length of stay in Thailand.
Even if your visa is shorter than your subscription, that’s fine — we just need to know the details upfront.
What to send: Any valid long-stay visa type.

💼 Work Permit (if applicable)

Why we ask: To confirm employment status — if you’re working here. If you’re retired, freelancing, or here on another setup — that’s totally fine.
What to send: A copy of your valid work permit — if you have one.

🏠 Proof of Residence

Why we ask: We need to know where the car’s going. Also, it’s a legal requirement for insurance.
What to send:

  • Utility bill
  • Rental agreement
  • TM30

💵 Proof of Income

Why we ask: To make sure the monthly fee fits your budget.
What to send:

  • Latest payslip, or
  • Employment contract with salary details

🏦 Bank Statements (Last 3 Months)

Why we ask: To confirm steady financial activity.
What to send:

  • PDF copies of your last 3 months’ bank statements

What Happens After You Submit?

Once you’ve uploaded your documents, here’s what happens next:

  1. We review your application — typically within a few hours during office hours.
  2. If everything looks good, you’ll be approved. If not, we’ll get in touch — either to request supporting documents or talk through other options.
  3. You pay your deposit and first month subscription fee securely through the app.
  4. We deliver your car to your doorstep — fast, smooth, and fully insured.
